What You Should Know:

  • Today, Hippocratic AI launched out of stealth to announce the first Large Language Model (LLM) designed specifically for healthcare, as well as a $50M seed round co-led by General Catalyst and Andreessen Horowitz.
  • Co-founded by Munjal Shah and Meenesh Bhimani MD, Hippocratic AI is building the first LLM for healthcare, with an initial focus on non-diagnostic, patient-facing applications. It has outperformed existing language models (e.g. GPT-4) on 100+ healthcare tests and certifications.
  • General Catalyst and its health assurance ecosystem, and Hippocratic AI’s founding team formed the company to build the healthcare industry’s own AI platform. The goal is to empower healthcare workforces, improve patient safety, and create a more equitable care system for all.
